The Social Networking site that will reach audiences most effectively.
I recently took a look at three Social Media Tools:
1. Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/
2. LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/nhome/.
3. Google Hangouts - https://plus.google.com/hangouts
I looked at each website to determine which of these social media tools will reach audiences most effectively. Whereas Facebook and Google Hangouts seems to cater to a broad and diverse audience, I believe that LinkedIn will reach its audience most effectively because it has developed into a focused website that caters to a specific population: professional job-seekers.
LinkedIn is a Social Networking website. The LinkedIn’s website states that it is "The World's Largest Professional Network: 3 Million Strong." Judging from its reviews and population LinkedIn seems to have revolutionized professional networking. Although it requires self-published information about professional careers, LinkedIn can help professional job-seekers with job searches, career information and trends. It is structured so that a job searcher does not have to make numerous clicks before getting to the information needed. LinkedIn is a tool that is specific to the job-seeking, professional networking population. Upon completing a profile, like-minded professionals can share links, professional information such as job anniversaries, blogs, other information about professional concerns or trends and people in their professional field can endorse these individuals and respond to them. There are many such websites, but I would contend that they are not as structured, and specific as LinkedIn. In 2012, the LinkedIn Company reported 105% year-to-year growth in quarterly revenues to $167.7 Million, making the company the fastest growing public provider of corporate recruiting solutions (Bersin, 2012). When comparing LinkedIn to Facebook, Bersin states, “… LinkedIn is now becoming very focused and educated about the needs of corporate recruiters and talent management professionals.” I believe that this is the difference. LinkedIn is targeted, focused websites that caters to a specific professional population.
