There is no doubt about it, multimedia can enhance our blogs or webpages in various ways. There are wonderful examples of sophisticated forms of multimedia use such as Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek, New York Times article by John Branch. Multimedia is used to give the reader a visceral experience with the story through this wonderful technology.

If I had to choose one best type of multimedia, I would choose videos. Videos satisfy both audio and visual learning styles. But any type of multimedia will enhance a message or blog and make is richer and stronger.

ReplyDeleteThese are some good tips. Sites like blogger allows for addition of multimedia like images, audio and video a very easy process. I like how there is not any coding needed and that with a few clicks any page or blog can come from a plain text page to an enhanced media page. Multimedia is what catches the reader.

The use of a podcast or video will provide more information regarding an aspect of the information being provided. In the article about The avalanche at tunnel creek, this media provided the story by an individual who was buried in the avalanche share her experience during that time. Very good job.
ReplyDeleteYes...video is definitely the way to go when using multimedia in a blog or on a website. As you said, they are appealing for both audio and visual reasons. People learn differently, some are visual and some can learn simply by listening to another person describe things. Videos cover both of these learning styles.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the ease of using various types of multimedia. Blogger is great because it allows people to upload videos and photos without coding but it also gives the option to write code if someone so desires.
